Meet the Maker: May Hunt

I'd describe myself as a very textile person. I'm really big on different textures and very fussy about the way things feel. When I came across 'May Hunt' on Instagram I just knew I had to ask them to be one of my feature artists. I'm sure from this shoot you'll see why...

Meet the Maker: Bonnie Hislop

I first came across Bonnie's glorious works at a Finders Keepers market (Ps, I'll be attending the one in Brisbane in November!) And after starting this Meet the Maker project I absolutely couldn't wait to shoot with her.

I am absolutely obsessed with her beautiful ceramics. And for a person that's not that really into bright colours, that's a pretty bold statement. I love the bright, cheery feel they have to them... The kind of pieces that instantly put a smile on your dial (and they're practical too!)

I've long admired the work of Kiralee and Co, I love how their minimal designs combine both feminine and masculine energy to create a stunning and practical piece of home decor. To top that off their creations are both ethical and sustainable!

I love that their studio is so light and airy with blacks, timber and pops of green from all their glorious houseplants. (Plus Kiralee has a fabulous collection of works from other local artists I greatly admire.) Yay for makers supporting makers! Their studio is the kind of space that makes you want to sit down and get productive in, take a look for yourself...

You know how sometimes you just get the urge to pack up and leave for a while? I am beyond grateful to have met someone who feels the same. Whilst on our last little getaway we said 'why not?' and as soon as we got home; we packed up and left again.

A trip from Tamborine Mountain to Sydney, The Blue Mountains and our new dream area to live in; Dorrigo/Bellingen. Part 1/3 - Bellingen, Bondi, Blue Mountain Botanical Gardens.

We left late Monday afternoon and headed straight to my usual favourite rest-stop in Bellingen. Tuesday morning was Dan's 22nd birthday, I drove him out to The Promised Lands and set up a little birthday breakfast at one of the park benches.
